Dispatches from Antigua and Highlands of Guatemala (www.chrisengholm.com)

April 24, 2008.  On Monday I pack up for a 2-week shoot in Guatemala.  I’ll be posting information here about the trip and my efforts to photograph various Mayan religious ceremonies in the Highlands near Quetzaltenango on May 7-10.  My compatriot and guide in Guatemala, Manual Barrios, has arranged for me to photograph ceremonies organized by the nine highest Mayan priests in the country, I guess something that outsiders don’t get to see everyday.  Please check back again for tales from the shoot…

We are busy these days preparing for the “Legends of Guatemala” show in Irvine, CA on April 25, 2008.  The reception is from 5:30pm-until late in the evening.  Check out www.chrisengholm.com to get directions.  Based on the email this week, the Reflective Image gallery is expecting a great turn out.  Hope you can make it too!

UPDATE:  The show reception was a blast.  Thanks to all for coming.  Here’s video clip.

The next show is in November, 2008–”Border Color.”  Thanks again!
